2X WORLD CHAMPION
Since early childhood I have always been involved in sports. Growing up on the island of Mauritius, you are pretty much born with a soccer ball in your hand and that was my first love. However, my interest in Martial Arts started with my father who would never miss a day without practicing in the morning despite his busy schedule. That’s what kept him young and energetic. It wasn’t until I moved to Canada that I got much more involved in Tae Kwon Do. I was hooked on all the fancy kicks and exciting action in the ring.
At the age of 13, I remember staring at a poster of the World Championships thinking someday I want to be there. Two years later I competed in my first national competition in the men’s division and at the age of 18, I became a National Champion in Tae Kwon Do. And the rest is history… Here are some of my accomplishments: World Champion 2003-2005 ; European and Intercontinental Champion 1996-1998; 4 times World Silver Medalist 1995, 1997, 2000, 2002 ; 2 times Pan American and Caribbean Champion ; 5 times North American Champion ; 8 times Canadian Champion.
